A Montreal-based collective of five seasoned tango musicians hailing from Canada, Argentina and Chile brought together by bandoneonist and musicologist Jonathan Goldman, Quinteto Nuevo brings together musicians from some of Canada’s most illustrious tango orchestras (Quartango, Sweatshop Tango, Atipika, etc.). Devoted to authentic, historically-informed performances of the music of Astor Piazzolla’s legendary quintet, and including, of course, the emblematic instrument of tango, the bandoneon.
